Thursday Thirteen--Things I've learned

Thirteen Things TC has learned from this weightloss journey
  1. It is possible to go a full week without chocolate without killing Prince Charming.
  2. I can indeed survive without sugar and cookies
  3. While rstaurants have way too few healthy options, it is possible to be healthy while eating out.
  4. Learning about eating and diets and food choices can be fun, if you have a positive attitude.
  5. Prince Charming is an amazing man who can be endlessly supportive while enduring endless experiments with new foods.
  6. Little Princess can be somewhat less accomodating.
    Simple dessert:

    1 pear, chopped (or other fruit)
    1/4 cup fat free unsweetened yogurt
    1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp splenda (or to taste).

    mix together. very tasty treat.

    Orange Chicken:

    1 can campbells tomato soup
    1 can diet orange crush
    skinless chicken

    combine first two ingredients. roast chicken. Once chicken starts to brown, pour mixture over chicken and cook until it starts to thicken. (about 1/2 hour). Very tasty sauce.

    Italian Couscous:
    1 cup couscous
    1 1/2 cups chicken broth

    cook vegetables in medium saucepan. Add chicken broth and bring to rolling boil. Add couscous and remove from heat. let sit for five minutes then fluff with fork. I would experiment with seasonings to taste. I think that taco seasons, garlic powder, onion powder or others would be really good in this. Tastes really yummy with orange chicken.
  7. There are a lot of amazing foods out there that I have yet to experience.
  8. Eating healthy is worth the commitment to myself.
  9. Even if my weightloss plateaus, I am so much healthier and happier this way that if the scales never moved again, i would be pleased with how far I have come.
  10. I would love to be able to have plastic surgery to fix the tummy stretch I have from having my daughter.
  11. I like skinned chicken thighs better than frozen skinless chicken breasts.
  12. A store will immediately run out of something healthy as soon as I discover they sell it and I like it.
  13. Veggie Ground round tastes just like ground meat in everything I have tried it in.
