Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about TC
I am stressed today, as it is my baby's first day of preschool. This is usually bad for my diet. So today, in my thursday thirteen, I will post thirteen things I have learned about myself since starting losing weight. This should help motivate me to stay on track.
  1. I over eat when I am stressed or upset
  2. Even though I am getting smaller, I can't bring myself to believe it when I go shopping.
  3. I can be satisfied with a meal without meat in it.
  4. I am more willing to experiment and try new things if I am not giving them to anyone else.
  5. I can't do this alone. I need the support that my blog friends give me.
  6. Motivation is important.
  7. I have to be doing this to make me happier, not to make anyone else happier
  8. I like hummus
  9. I don't need to fill up on a lot of pasta, breads, and potatoes.
  10. Veggies make wonderful subsitutes for the above.
  11. tomatoes are my new favorite food.
  12. I am loving fish and chicken lately.
  13. I am capable of losing weight and being healthier. I can do this.

Good for you!!! A few months ago I decided it was time to start living healthier and I have lost 25 lbs (well its only 21 now because of prednisone I have gained a few back - and I am even watching what I eat....ugh)and I love the support from my blogger friends!

I still have a way to go - but I am learning to take it one day at a time - I didn't gain it all in one day and I sure ain't gonna lose it that way either!

I played too

I don't even have my children yet, and the first day of preschool is a day that I am already dreading.

Good luck today!

I admire you trying to loose weight, it must be very tough. I can't imagine how I could ever do that if I were in that position needed it. I'm always so hungry.

I have had the opposite problem during my whole upbringing and at the moment because I lost weight last winter. It's very tough to try to gain weight too. I get so tired of thinking of what to eat all the time, kind of the same as you but I have to eat much calories. It's tough work that too you know. Time consuming too.

I can only applaud you. You're doing great just for trying!

Good luck x billions :-)

I tend to eat when I'm stressed too. One thing that works for me is making jello with plain gelatin and using unsweetened fruit juice. I just bring 2 C of juice to a boil, stir in a packet of gelatine, chill it in serving dishes, and voila! Totally fat free, naturally sweetened snack/dessert for my sweet tooth! Sometimes I mix in a small pot of plain natural yogurt also. I remember the first day of preschool for my first child...I cried and cried! Now I'm looking at my two oldest getting ready to move out on their own. I've already been in tears many times over it...I'll miss them like crazy. They will be moving back to our home town in the States which is 7000 miles from where we live! We are missionaries in Europe. Life is full of firsts! Like once I get this weight off and keep it off, it will be the first time I've sucessfully done that! Sucessfully being the key word...anyway, this is long enough! :-)

Hi Cindy,
thanks for visiting me even though you moved. It's great to have others in the same boat encourage and cheer on you. I think i'll also create a blog here, since EP has so many problems...i'm scared i'll log on one day and all my posts are gone!
